On Friday 28th April 2023, excitement was palpable in the Senior Sector Science Wing, as the school hosted the Grade 9 Science Fair, marking its return after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The event showcased 28 investigative projects on the topic of Climate Change, with each student presenting their research question, methods, and findings to their parents and other students.

On the 27th of April 2023, our Grade 7 students and their educators embarked on a much-awaited adventure to the beautiful island of Gozo for their Gozo Live-In experience. The trip was a wonderful opportunity for the students to learn beyond the classroom and create unforgettable memories.

During this Easter break, a group of Grade 11 Science students, accompanied by their educators, embarked on an enriching Science journey to Germany and Belgium. This excursion was meticulously organized with the aim of immersing the students in various scientific concepts aligned with their curriculum, while also delving into the rich cultural and historical tapestries of these European nations.

As educators, we understand the importance of continuous learning and skill development. That's why Professional Development Days are so crucial for teachers, and San Anton Educators returned to school today after the Easter break to attend one such event. The day was filled with engaging and interactive training workshops, delivered by both in-house and external education practitioners.

For many Grade 10 students, the Easter holidays provided an opportunity to go on an exciting adventure to PGL Liddington, accompanied by their educators. PGL Liddington is a residential outdoor activity center located in Wiltshire, United Kingdom, offering an array of exciting outdoor activities and opportunities for personal development.

In today's world, education has taken on a new form and become more diversified, expanding beyond the four walls of a classroom. One of the many ways this is being achieved is through cross-curricular trips. Recently, a group of Grade 11 Art and History students, accompanied by their educators, had the privilege of visiting Rome and Florence during their Easter holidays.

Our Grade 6 students have just returned from their long-awaited Cultural and Spiritual Live-in experience, where they were engaged in various curriculum-linked activities.

Senior Sector students Sophie Craig ( G12) and May Cassar (G11) represented the school by attending and participating in the FIDEM Foundation International Women's Day Conference on education and female empowerment.

We are immensely proud of former Grade 12 student Izaak Scicluna (Class of 2022) who has just been congratulated by MATSEC for his outstanding achievement in the Secondary Education Certificate examinations and has been identified as one of the candidates with the highest achievement in these examinations, nationally.

Congratulations to Grade 12 students, Morgan Mae Pisani Gaerty, Angela Vella, and Julian Grech for achieving 1st place at the Malta Junior Science Olympiads which took place on the 19th of November 2022.

On the 22nd of November, San Anton School hosted a Football Festival organised by the Women's Section of the Malta Football Association.

On the 17th of November 2022, our biennial Careers Fair kicked off in our School Hall, giving our Grade 11 and 12 students the unique opportunity to meet external professionals and representatives from over 40 different institutions, organisations, and professions and to attend career workshops all in one space.

74 of our Grade 8 students and 10 educators departed for the City of Light for an unforgettable three-day adventure.Over three days, our young mathematicians immersed themselves in a jam-packed itinerary of Maths-inspired activities across Paris before joining students from around the world at the spectacular Maths Live! Conference at Disneyland Park. Who says Maths can't be magical?

Our Junior Sector Grade 5 to Grade 7 students, participated in a series of Human Library events featuring experts from the art world, aligned with this year's Community Engagement Programme theme. This immersive experience formed a key component of our project-based learning approach, spearheaded by Pedagogical and Curriculum Consultant Heathcliff Schembri.

The Senior Sector Science Wing came alive, as our Grade 9 students showcased 27 innovative investigative projects at our annual Science Fair—this year exploring the captivating theme "Paint a Better Picture."

San Anton School's beloved Pets Day returned to the Junior Sector today, transforming our amphitheatre into a magical menagerie!Students, teachers, and parents arrived with beaming smiles and an incredible array of furry and feathered friends – from playful dogs and curious cats to gentle tortoises, colorful birds, and tiny hamsters.

Twelve Grade 11 students from San Anton School were recently invited to participate in the annual pilgrimage to Lourdes organised by the Maltese Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. The students joined a contingent of 330 members and volunteers who provided care and transportation for over 40 patients visiting the shrine of Our Lady in Lourdes.

Over the Easter break, our Grade 11 students embarked on an unforgettable cultural expedition through the heart of Renaissance Italy, walking in the footsteps of masters and immersing themselves in centuries of artistic brilliance.

This Easter break, our Grade 11 Science students traded textbooks for travel journals as they embarked on an extraordinary educational adventure through Germany and Belgium. Meticulously designed to complement their curriculum, this journey offered students a rare opportunity to witness scientific concepts come alive while immersing themselves in Europe's rich cultural landscape.

What an incredible two days as our Senior Sector students took to the field for our annual Sports Days! Students showcased their talents across a diverse range of events—from lightning-fast sprints and endurance-testing long-distance races and games to impressive displays of strength in shot put and gravity-defying high jumps.

Our PE Department once again created an exceptional showcase for our Junior Sector Sports Days, featuring diverse stations with races and team games that allowed students to demonstrate the skills they have developed throughout the year. Parents moved from station to station, beaming with pride as they watched their children in action.

This morning, we were delighted to welcome our San Anton parent community to our annual Open Day—an opportunity for parents to experience firsthand the remarkable creative achievements of our students. The event stood as a testament to the inspiring learning journey our students continue to embrace.

San Anton School had the distinct honor of welcoming Dr. Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, for a special visit today. The distinguished guest was warmly received by Head of School Ms. Bernadette Stivala, Chairman of the School Board Ms. Sunaina Attard, members of both student councils, and the School Leadership Team.

After last year’s success, and aligned with this year's theme for our Community Engagement Programme, our Junior Sector students participated in two impactful Human Library events, featuring six experts from diverse food industry sectors.

This morning marked a truly special occasion as we concluded our SEA Our Future Campaign with an emotional presentation. Throughout this scholastic year, students from all sectors, guided by their dedicated educators, engaged in immersive learning about ocean literacy. This initiative was part of the San Anton School Community Social Engagement Programme, focusing on raising awareness about the sea and addressing the critical issue of marine pollution and other sea-related matters.

We are proud to announce that San Anton School has been awarded the status of European Blue School for our community engagement project, SEA Our Future, for the 2023/24 scholastic year. This certification is granted by the EU4Ocean Coalition, funded by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

This morning marked a truly special occasion as we concluded our Children for Children Campaign with a heartfelt presentation. The San Anton School community came together and raised an impressive sum of €7,200 through various engaging activities as part of this year's San Anton School Community Social Engagement Programme. We had the pleasure of presenting Ms. Angele Cuschieri from Puttinu with a cheque for this remarkable amount.

This morning, a ceremony took place at St. Michael School Santa Venera, where Grade 11 students Alexia Sant and Kate Oswald, participants in the Prince's Trust programme, were honored with the prestigious Sustainability Award 2023 by Prince's Trust Achieve International Malta.

The Maltese Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta recently extended an invitation to San Anton School to participate in its annual pilgrimage to Lourdes. And once again, the school eagerly accepted the invitation.

Following last December's Expression of Interest to our Junior Sector, 13 groups of budding entrepreneurs and talented crafters rose to the occasion and made crafts in their free time, in order to raise money for Puttinu Cares ahead of next week's Crafts for Puttinu, as part of this year`s Children for Children campaign.
