The Grade 7 Gozo Live-In Experience

April 27, 2023

On the 27th of April 2023, our Grade 7 students and their educators embarked on a much-awaited adventure to the beautiful island of Gozo for their Gozo Live-In experience. The trip was a wonderful opportunity for the students to learn beyond the classroom and create unforgettable memories.

During their stay, the students had the chance to explore Gozo's rich history and culture. They kicked off their adventure with a visit to the Cittadella, where they had an opportunity to learn about the fortified city's history and explore its winding streets. The highlight of their visit was a fun-filled treasure hunt, which added an exciting twist to their exploration of the ancient city.

Later, the group enjoyed a fascinating tour of the Teatru tal-Opra Aurora. Here, they learned about the opera house's rich history and importance to the Gozitan community. The tour was a great opportunity for the students to learn about Gozitan culture and history, all linked to their Humanities Curriculum.

The following morning, after a hearty breakfast, the group explored the historical Ggantija Temples and Ta Kola Windmill. The Ggantija Temples are some of the oldest structures in the world, and the students had the opportunity to explore their fascinating history. At Ta Kola Windmill, they learned about traditional Maltese farming practices and how they have evolved over the years.

Overall, the Gozo Live-In experience was a wonderful opportunity for the students to bond as a grade and learn about Gozo's rich history and culture. The trip was made possible thanks to the team of accompanying educators who gave up their personal time to make it happen.

The memories created on the trip will be cherished for years to come.
