We are proud to announce that our Early Years team has once again achieved the highest recognition from Dinja Waħda! Head of Early Years, Ms Nicky Azzopardi and Ms Francesca Cassar our Early Years Outdoor Coordinators, received this award on behalf of the Sector.

We are thrilled to announce that San Anton School participated for the first time in the Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition—and what an extraordinary debut it was! We are immensely proud of our 27 talented young writers across the Junior and Senior Sectors, who collectively achieved bronze, silver and gold awards.

As a new scholastic year approached, our entire school community came together for an unforgettable team-building experience — and the result was truly something special.

The Easter holidays brought an unforgettable adventure for our Grade 10 students as they set off on a week-long trip to PGL Osmington Bay in Dorset, accompanied by a group of dedicated and enthusiastic educators.​

San Anton School has successfully concluded a comprehensive European professional development initiative under the Erasmus+Key Action 1 project in School Education. Throughout the 2023/24 scholastic year,31 educators and leadership team members participated in 33 specialised mobility experiences across major European cities including Florence, Athens, Valencia, Trapani, Strasbourg, and Berlin.

This morning marked a truly special occasion as we concluded our SEA Our Future Campaign with an emotional presentation. Throughout this scholastic year, students from all sectors, guided by their dedicated educators, engaged in immersive learning about ocean literacy. This initiative was part of the San Anton School Community Social Engagement Programme, focusing on raising awareness about the sea and addressing the critical issue of marine pollution and other sea-related matters.

Our stunning outdoor sculpture installations are ready, enhancing the approach to the school and its outdoor areas with vibrant colour and interest. This collaborative project, led by our Art teaching team in partnership with professional sculptor Stephan Priehyba, draws inspiration from the flora and fauna of the neighbouring Imselliet Valley, exploring the intricate relationship between nature and art.

With their exams over and the end of their San Anton journey approaching, 76 Grade 12 students, along with 8 educators, embarked on an exciting trip to Thessaloniki, Greece. This adventure was packed with cultural experiences, breathtaking views, and thrilling activities, making it a memorable chapter in their lives.

On the evening of June 13, 2024, the San Anton School community gathered to commemorate a dual celebration: the school's 35th anniversary and the feast day of its patron saint, St. Anthony. This significant event brought together trustees, current and former board members, heads of school, students, staff, parents, and alumni, all united in their pride and affection for the school.

We are proud to announce that San Anton School has been awarded the status of European Blue School for our community engagement project, SEA Our Future, for the 2023/24 scholastic year. This certification is granted by the EU4Ocean Coalition, funded by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

Today we welcomed Dr. Karl Attard, a distinguished marine biologist and Old Antonian as a guest speaker for our SEA Our Future project. Dr. Attard, currently serving as an Associate Professor of Marine Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark, graced us with his expertise and insights into the mesmerising world beneath the waves.

Grade 7 (Year 6) students Edward Busuttil, Luke Mifsud Bonnici, Ida Pace, Scarlett Salt and Emma Montebello recently participated in the High 5 - Junior Mathematics Challenge, organised by the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes, targeting mathematically gifted and talented students in schools across Malta and Gozo.

On the 26th and 27th of April 2023, the Junior Sector Sports Days took place, and what fantastic events they were! The days were filled with fun and friendly competition, showcasing what the children had learnt in their Physical Education (P.E.) lessons throughout the year.

Last week, our Grade 5 students performed 2 original plays written by our Junior Sector Teacher of Drama, Ms. Chiara Hyzler - 'Homelessness is Real' which brings to light the homelessness situation that does exist in Malta and which may not be apparent, and 'Journey to Home' which depicts a family fleeing from War.

After weeks of preparation, our 2023 Open Day was held on Tuesday, 28th March. It was so heartwarming to be able to welcome parents and grandparents once again to this much-awaited event after an absence of four long years.

Friday 24th March 2023 was a fantastic day of celebrating diversity throughout the whole school with various age-appropriate sessions being organised according to Sector by our Department of Emotional Wellbeing.

Last week, it was our Grade 11's turn to experience their awaited live-in activity. Lots of fun was had with bowling, fun games, a night walk, followed by a traditional meal in Mgarr, toasted marshmallows by a bonfire at school and much more.

Our Senior Sector Sports Days took place over the last two days. The days' events included the usual mix of athletics, ball games, and fun races. From sprints to long-distance races, shot put, high jump, and more.

Senior Sector students Sophie Craig ( G12) and May Cassar (G11) represented the school by attending and participating in the FIDEM Foundation International Women's Day Conference on education and female empowerment.

On the 7th of March 2023, our Early Years Sports Day took place, and what a fun day that was! It's always heartwarming to witness the joy and excitement that children experience while participating in such activities, which will go a long way to foster a love for physical activity and sports in our young students.

The long-awaited Grade 9 live-in, took place this weekend. Lots of fun was had with Laser Tag on the school grounds, fun games, a night hike followed by a traditional meal in the neighbouring village of Mgarr, toasted marshmallows by a bonfire at school and much more.

Dil-ġimgħa ċċelebrajna l-Ġimgħa tal-Ktieb ġewwa San Anton u bħala parti milll-attivitajiet organizzati mill-iskola, kellna diversi żjarat minn awturi.

Twelve of our young athletes coached by San Anton Athletics Coach Mr. Vladimir Dushenkov, participated in the Winter Championship Malta Athletics Meeting, competing against other young athletes at the Marsa Track, over the weekend.

On the 26th January, our Grade 4 Performing Arts class demos took place, where each class brilliantly interpreted a Dr. Seuss Classic - ‘Oh the Places you will go,’ and ‘The Lorax.’

This morning marked a truly special occasion as we concluded our Children for Children Campaign with a heartfelt presentation. The San Anton School community came together and raised an impressive sum of €7,200 through various engaging activities as part of this year's San Anton School Community Social Engagement Programme. We had the pleasure of presenting Ms. Angele Cuschieri from Puttinu with a cheque for this remarkable amount.

This morning, a ceremony took place at St. Michael School Santa Venera, where Grade 11 students Alexia Sant and Kate Oswald, participants in the Prince's Trust programme, were honored with the prestigious Sustainability Award 2023 by Prince's Trust Achieve International Malta.

The Maltese Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta recently extended an invitation to San Anton School to participate in its annual pilgrimage to Lourdes. And once again, the school eagerly accepted the invitation.

Following last December's Expression of Interest to our Junior Sector, 13 groups of budding entrepreneurs and talented crafters rose to the occasion and made crafts in their free time, in order to raise money for Puttinu Cares ahead of next week's Crafts for Puttinu, as part of this year`s Children for Children campaign.
