Position Overview
The Youth Worker’s main objective is to cultivate a sense of community and wellbeing within the student body through outreach, informal and non-formal educational initiatives, and by working in tandem with relevant stakeholders inside and beyond the San Anton School community. The Youth Worker forms part of the Emotional Wellbeing team. The existing vacancy is for the role of Youth Outreach Officer within the Senior Sector. The post of Youth Outreach Officer is on a definite (for one full scholastic year) full-time basis with a four-month probation.

Requirements

By the closing date and time of this call for applications, applicants must be in possession of an undergraduate or post-graduate qualification in areas such as:

  • Youth & Community or
  • Social Work or
  • Community Action & Development or
  • Community Education     or
  • Youth Ministry or
  • Related academic discipline focused on youth development.

All things being equal, applicants with additional and/or higher qualifications will be given preference.

Prior experience in a similar student-support role will be considered an asset.

Terms and Conditions

For a non-warranted candidate, the salary for the position in 2026 ranges between €28,701 – €31,385 including allowances amounting to €7,850 per annum.

For a warranted candidate, the salary for the position in 2026 ranges between €30,405 – €33,326 including allowances amounting to €8,350 per annum.  

Prior related experience will be taken into consideration to determine the salary step.

The Youth Outreach Officer will furthermore be entitled to government bonuses, public holidays and special leave.  In addition to the special leave, the Youth Outreach Officer will also be entitled to school holidays as per school calendar.
