Early Sector Comenius Project
Third Comenius Project Meeting in Bulgaria

The beautiful capital city of Bulgaria, Sofia hosted a delegation of 30 people from nine countries whose common goal is to enhance Art and Culture as an extra added value in Early Education. San Anton School represented by Ms Sandra Mezzapelle, Head of the Early Sector and Mr Kenneth Deguara, Comenius project co-ordinator participated in a number of workshops where discussions about this years’ work took place. During the discussions Ms. Sandra expressed her determination to broaden participation in the project to include parents of children at San Anton School. She felt that the theme had much to offer educationally and the inclusion of parents would ensure that the message which children were receiving at school would be reinforced at home. A whole week will be dedicated to such an initiative in the coming months. At a meeting with the Bulgarian authorities at the offices of the Mayor and the President, Ms. Sandra and Mr. Kenneth had the opportunity of making a short presentation about San Anton School stressing its foundation by a group of parents and its independent nature. Presentations were also held at the Institution of Europe and the Institute of Culture. The Maltese delegation also had the opportunity to visit the ‘ Palace of Children’ where ‘Art and Culture’ come together in one building. This was the third get-together that partners from Bulgaria, Greece, Poland, Romania, Germany, U.K., France, Turkey and Malta have had, with previous meetings being held in Greece and Romania respectively. This project is being funded with the support from the European Commission.
