On Friday 30 th May 2008, San Anton School`s Junior Sector participated in the Crowing of our Lady, a religious activity that is a School tradition for the last day of the month of May.
As the children excitedly gathered in the playground clutching beautiful flowers that they brought to school from home, their teachers explained to them what was about to happen.
They then recited prayers to our Lady whilst they formed a procession to the School`s Chapel, where each class had prepared a special prayer and sung hymns, led by their class teachers and Dun Gorg Dalli, the school`s Spiritual Director.
Flowers and candles were then presented to our Lady whilst the crowning took place by two students who have just received the sacrament of Holy Communion.
“This lovely tradition is in keeping with the ethos of San Anton School to promote Catholic values” commented Ms. Rosanne Demanuele the Asst. Head of the Junior.
Sector.
“ It is also evident that the teaching of Religion is imparted as a way of life rather than a mere acquisition of knowledge” concluded Ms. Rosanne.
