In the twenty years since its inception, San Anton School has always held that Physical Education is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. “We believe that students acquire team-building and socialization skills through the practice of sports.” comments Ms. Vicki.

It is this belief that has motivated the massive investment in the upgrading of the sports facilities at school. The process began with the rubberizing of the Junior Sector play areas over the last years and has culminated in the construction, in the school`s twentieth anniversary year, of the new turf pitch and athletics track, built to international sports specifications.

It is also the first pitch locally to be laid with eco-friendly Geofill infill, which is most appropriate since the Sports Pitch and track have open views of the beautiful countryside of L-Imselliet.

The Sports Complex was inaugurated with much pomp on the 8th of May 2009 by Hon. Parliamentary Secretary for Sport Clyde Puli.

A whole-school Sports Day was held following the inauguration.
