Pets day.

On Thursday 14th January 2010, the Junior Sector celebrated an old school tradition by organizing Pets Day on the feast of St. Anthony the Abbot.

As the School opened its doors in the morning, the students and parents streamed in excitedly with their pets, whilst the School Amphitheatre was transformed into a menagerie of dogs, cats, tortoises, turtles, birds, goldfish, rabbits, hamsters, cats, dogs and a pig !

Dun Gorg Dalli, the School`s Spiritual Director told the story of St. Anthony the Abbot, patron saint of the Animal Kingdom and led the children in prayer to bless their animals, while guest speakers - Ms. Fiona Attard Picton, and Ms. Moira Delia spoke to the children on general pet care and answered the eager childrens` numerous questions on the subject.

The children, (in some cases assisted by their parents) proudly paraded their pets, and this memorable event was brought to an end with Grade 7 student Kyle Cuschieri letting off his homing pigeons !

Various classes baked cookies, pizza and made cards, bookmarks and bracelets, which were then sold by the students to raise money for the various animal charities across the island.
