Gearing Up for Open Day

During the last two weeks a flurry of activity has been sweeping through the Junior Sector as everyone gears up for Open Day on the 12 th March 2008.

Taking a stroll through the corridors, one can feel the energy and excitement gripping the students and teachers as they lay the final touches to their colourful exhibits. Baking smells will lead you to the common areas where teachers and mummy- helpers assist the students with their traditional baking, kneading and rolling, whilst others are sprawled on the floor guiding the younger students` brush strokes onto the large murals. Boards are being fixed, murals mounted, and full scale models set up outside the class rooms.

Open Day has become a much awaited event in the School`s Calendar, where the students and teachers have an opportunity to proudly show off their creative and imaginative work to the visitors. This year`s theme of The Environment allowed the students to discover its different aspects from the Sun, Water, Rainbow and Flower Fairies for the little ones, and recycling to the natural marine and rural environment around the school for the older children

This broad topic was also extended to recreating local old and existing traditions, such as Carnival and the Festa by the older students.

It can surely be said that the Parents are in for a treat tomorrow, as they will be able to view at firsthand the quality and contemporary education that San Anton School is providing for their children.
