| This morning the Grade Two and Three classes gathered together to celebrate Mission Sunday.
As part of their religion lessons, the children learnt about the meaning of Mission Sunday and were encouraged to show solidarity with poor children worldwide through prayer and sharing.
Led by their class teachers and religion teacher Ms. Maria, the children gathered together and individually presented used stamps which they had brought from home, to be given to the Mission Fund.
Grade Three students then read bidding prayers on behalf of all the children and the whole group brought the session to a close by holding hands, singing “ We are the World, we are the children”
“It is very important for us to instill the values of cooperation , community, an awareness of other`s needs in our students from an early age, in order to foster a sense of altruism and solidarity.” commented Ms. Rosanne Demanuele- Asst. Head of the Junior Sector.
The following day, saw the same students participate in a Short Story Competition. Noel Tanti, the School`s Librarian visited the class and explained the rules of the competition, after which the students had an entire lesson in which to write their own original story.
