On Monday 21st January 2008, San Anton School`s Grade 4 students and their parents were invited to the Home Economics Seminar Centre in B`kara to participate in an educational nutrition program entitled “ A Healthy Breakfast for a Good Start.”
These seven year old children in their respective classes attended fun and interactive nutrition classes underlining the importance of eating healthy food, fruit and vegetables, and were introduced to the food pyramid.
Parents attended a parallel nutrition program focusing on the particular dietary needs and eating habits of their growing children.
Both parents, teachers and children were then hosted to a healthy breakfast.
Special thanks to Ms Lorraine Dimech Magrin from the centre, who co-ordinated this visit
This event is the first in a series of Healthy Eating Initiatives that the School will be pursuing in 2008, leading to the implementation of a Whole School Healthy Eating Policy, |
