This year we are pleased to welcome no fewer than 23 expatriate families to our school community from all corners of the world.
With this in mind we felt that it was necessary to organise a familiarization morning for all our new expatriate parents on Tuesday 9th November 2010.
Ms. Vicki Anastasi Head of school welcomed the parents and Ms. Natasha Barthet our Junior Sector Counsellor and Resident Educational Psychologist discussed ways in which parents may further support their children to cope with a move.
Ms. Rosanne and Dr. Joe from the Junior and Senior Sectors respectively were at hand to answer any questions.
Mr.Ian Refalo, Head Counsellor later outlined the role of the Department of Social and Emotional Literacy and explained the local educational system pertaining to the Senior Sector.
Two expatriate parents, Ms. Caroline Gardner and Ms. Kristen Jones who relocated to Malta some years ago, were then invited to share their experiences with all those present and offered their advice and support where necessary.
Refreshments were served at the end of the session which gave all the new parents the opportunity to get to know one another.
We look forward to the next gathering !
